I purchased this amazing handgun after consulting extensively with a friend who has been seriously involved with many handguns and firearms in general for over 40 years. It was under his tutelage that I chose to go with the Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 9mm handgun as my preferred firearm for concealed carry. At the time, I was considering another, very popular first choice preferred by many law enforcement officers. I was really unaware of the many incredible advancements that had been made with this amazing firearm. Among the big factors that got my attention was the great reliability of the action and fine attention to detail in the machining of all the parts. Breakdown for cleaning is a snap after reading the owner's manual carefully. The multiple layer of safeties engineered into this firearm is also a big plus. But the biggest thing is the solid hand feel when holding the firearm in firing position. It feels completely natural and like it is an extension of your own body. That is only possible to appreciate by trying one yourself. I would highly recommend going to your local range that also rents firearms and try this handgun on for size and feel. The balance and easy recoil together with that rock solid hand feel even with a double or triple tap will simply blow your mind! Reliability and knowing that in the event of actually requiring your concealed carry protection, this incredible weapon from Springfield Armory will not fail you and will put you on target will give you true peace of mind. All this and at a much more affordable price than that other popular model. What more needs to be said?

Q: What is the difference between Model XDG9101HC and XDG9101HCSP?

A: The HC only included a case, lock and two mags. I believe the HCSP included the extra XD gear package, two mags, special case, with belt holder, speed loader, mag pouch, holster, etc.. But now that they stopped including the gear, I'm not sure why the HCSP is still priced this high? Unless it does still include the extra gear for now? Other then that, I see no difference. Springfield has a great rebate going on right now too.

A: The only difference seems to be that the XDG9101HCSP has a Melonite finish the does not list it on Bud's web page. I can't determine any difference viewing the Springfield Armory web page? A: David, Same gun, different chambering. You can get the 40 S&W model and 9 mm conversion barrel for about $200 and have 2 calibers. The 40 S&W magazines will work with the 9 mm rounds.
