For it's size, the...
For it's size, the light from this unit is exceptionally bright. The only downside to this unit on a 1911, compared to say a G42/43 is that the barrel extends far beyond the light. The issue this creates is a large shadow in the light pattern from about 11 to 1 o'clock. Still it gives enough light that you can make out your target well, just doesn't provide as much contrast for the sights as if the light was full circle. All in all though, for the price and size, an excellent way to get a light and laser on a rail less 1911.

Q: I have an FEG 9mm. It's supposed be a copy of a Browning 1911. Has anyone ever tried this Streamlight Laser Sight on anything similar? http://www.hungariae.com/FegR9.htm

(2) ANSWERS
A: The R9 is much closer to a Browning Hi Power clone than a 1911 and has a substantially different enough trigger guard and dust cover shape that laser/lights like this TLR-6 are not going to mount properly. For a laser, my one possible guess for compatibility would be things like laser grips for the Hi Power like this (if you can find one in stock somewhere): https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/33074/crimson+trace+laser+grips+browning+hi+power+high However, even then I'm not certain it will fit without comparing the actual dimensions of the R9 to a Hi Power.
