This is the second...
This is the second Chiappa 1911-22 that I have purchased, the first from Buds in Lexington and this one from Buds online. First I'll say that they are exactly as a true 1911 45 as far as weight and features with the exception of the added locking safety device which is proprietary to Chiappa.(NOTE, IF YOU LOCK THAT SAFETY DEVICE TRY NOT TO LOST THE 2 PRONG KEY, OR YOU MIGHT HAVE TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE THAT WILL UNLOCK IT) I strongly suggest that you follow the Chiappa instructions on ammo use! Use quality, high velocity (1200 plus feet per second) and also try and use copper plated / coated 22 ammo since the lead nose will more easily and quickly foul the weapon, clean it often! I had an issue with the first 1911-22 after the first range time, though using good quality ammo, sometimes there were FTF problems and when I had my nephew at the range I noticed that often, the weapon would not lock back after the last round and this of course being a rim fire 22, that failure leads to dry fires. I sent it back to Chiappa through Buds and it was repaired, firing pin was shot along with a few springs due to the dry fire on failure to lock back on last. This one is basically Army type Green but not Cerakote, more of a paint coating, doesn't look bad and the grip is a Hogue, rubber wrap around with finger grips, I love that! Being more aware of the previous problems, I tend to actually count my fired rounds to insure no dry firing and when stored, I always have a clip with "snap caps" in the gun. Takedown is same as any 1911. It's a fun plinker and for sure less expensive than a 45 but with all the heft for practice.

I purchased the Chiappa 1911 .22 LR from Buds and I couldn't be happier. It feels great in the hand and shoots excellent and accurate. The only problem i had was finding the right ammo. I found out mine has to have CCI Blazer Brass 40 gr. No problems since!!! Great buy, I do recommend!!!!

A: Yes you can. if you are paying the cash price remember to pay through with your banking information, not debit card, because it will charge you the retail price. (2) ANSWERS
A: This model is Not optic ready. You can purchase a Dovetail adapter to add a red dot but I'd rather just send out my slide to have it milled for an optic. As far as the laser, there is no front rail to attach one but you may be able to again, purchase an adapter to add a laser.

A: Hi Carter, this is not optics ready and does not have a rail for a laser. There are other options that would work like a dovetail adapter for a red dot, or laser grips for a laser. You'll need to do some googling.
