I got this for a great price from Bud's. I was torn whether or not to go MRD with optic or just sights. For me, this carries great like this (no optic). Nothing to catch on and nothing but full strength FN between you and whatever. This is the FN-gun for reliable self defense. It should be your FN-gun too... pun intended.

Questions & Answers
Q: Will the 17 round mags fit?
Author: Llewellyn D.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Yes, they will fit however FN recommends using the spacers they sell to prevent overinsertion and potential damage. Inserting them carefully or at least without really slamming them in hard should be enough to avoid any issues.
Author: Trevor D.
A: Llewellyn, Yes the 17 round magazines will fit and function in this firearm.

Q: Two different model numbers but looks like the same gun. Please help.
Author: Gerald P.
(3) ANSWERS
A: Gerald, different manufacturer UPC codes mean two different configurations. The model above has Sights: FT: 1-Dot Luminescent RR: 2-Dot Luminescent and the 509MRD has All Black Co-Witness Height Sights. Cheers and stay safe!

A: MRD is optics ready (slide comes milled ready to accept resdot mounting plates), has night sights, and has 3-17 rd magazines. https://fnamerica.com/products/law-enforcement/fn-509-mrd/ ---------------- The other one is bot milled for a redot, has luminescent sights ( not true night sites they glow when charged by light) and 2-15 rd magazines.
Author: Paul F.
A: This one has a standard slide and sights, the MDR has "FN Optics Mount System" basically just a cut slide for running an optic.

Q: I need to now if can use 24r magazine
Author: Juan D.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Yes this model is compatible with 15rd, 17rd and 24rd magazines, the bottom will hang down a bit but it will still function with no issues.
Author: Paul F.
A: Juan, yes Sir. the 24rd Magazine is the same as the 15rd magazine that fits and locks into the magazine well. The 24rd magazine is just longer and holds more rounds. Cheers and stay safe!

Q: If one were to put this firearm on layaway while FN is offering a rebate, would that person still receive the rebate if they paid the layaway in full after the rebate offer expires?
Author: William S.
(3) ANSWERS
A: Hi William, no sir, the gun must be paid in full before the rebate offer expires. Stay safe & have a great day!
Author: Ed C.
A: What If a customer put it on layaway, received the rebate check before it was paid then canceled the layaway, they now would have a free rebate check. So that is a strong no, it would need to be paid for in full before being able to get the rebate & b4 it expires.
Author: Jason L.
A: Hi William and welcome. No Sir. The rebate, if Dec. 31st, must be paid for and invoiced by the 31st and you have until Jan 31st to submit rebate application. Cheers and happy holidays!
