My wife {gotta love...
My wife {gotta love her!) got me an1872 open top Navy .44 spl as a retirement gift! I love the gun, it's fit, finish and function are great. components all seem to be of good quality. Shoots at least as good as I do. lol. After shooting first time I took it apart to clean a found a small blemish on an internal part. While it did not affect performance, it bothered me. So, I contacted Cimarron, sent a pic. and they responded the next day. Whailen at Cimarron was great! I could have sent gun back for replacement of the part but I got them to send it to me. While I'm not a gunsmith. it's wasn't hard to replace. If I would have had to send it in, I would have been impatiently waiting for its return. So I was grateful for that option. It's all good now. And as always working with Buds was seamless.

I've always wanted...
I've always wanted this gun. My father has had the original black powder type since I was in the 8th grade. (50 now, happy?) He keeps it in his living room unloaded, and has since he got it. Anyway, I've put a lot of miles on that gun, twirling around on my finger and doing quick draws from a holster. My version of a quick draw anyway. A few nicks in the coffee tables and marks on the barrell it has stood the test of time. And me too. This converted 1872 is so much better balanced. Easy to pull. Easy to shoot 200gr .44 special. Its a hog killer for sure. But it's funner just to yank and shoot. Of course using all safety practices for trouble free fun. Get one for yourself. If you don't like it, which you will, I'll take it off your hands. At a used gun purchase price, naturally.
