A: Yes this is legal in NJ, these are for the most part reliable and well built pistols, however Taurus is known to have pretty sub-par customer service and at time their quality control isn't to good either. So if you do get one with issues you'll be in for a head ache trying to get it fixed. Also with this being a 1st handgun I'd recommend a full size pistol as a larger gun is going to be easier to learn good fundamentals on and will handle better for most shooters.
