So I was looking for a...
So I was looking for a super compact micro 9mm that was pocketable. Every gun I tried was too big, too blocky, too painful etc and nothing worked for me. Then I heard that sig might have had my answer so I went to the local gun store and tried one out, was exactly what I wanted. That being said I was not paying 800 bucks for a 938 from the LGS, so I logged onto buds to see if I could get a better price. I didn't want a fancy 938 like the Blackwood or the scorpion, not for pocket use anyway. I gave up hope of finding a good one till I found the NBS special edition, it was everything I wanted in a not fancy pocket gun. It's got plain rubber grip panels that help the gun stick to your hand, they do not include the hogue unit that you'll find on other sigs. The slide is plain stainless again it's nothing fancy, but you'll find plenty of options online to dress it up if your compelled to do so. It's accurate enough for social work and gives you a 9mm option when you can't pack something bigger. They also thoughtfully have front and back strap checkering to help it stay put in your hand. Perhaps the best feature on these micro sigs is the second 7 shot extended magazine that came with mine and that's a great value cause they typically only feature one flush fit mag. They do not use the black cut foam box anymore to keep costs down, they also do not give you the thermo moulded sig branded holster that older sig guns have. You get a grey plastic sig branded box that's got egg crate style foam. The gun is plastic bagged and laying on top of the instruction manual, the extra mag is there too. Just watch field stripping cause the extractor can get stuck unless you hold it down while putting the slide back on. You can rack the gun with the safety engaged as long as the hammer is down prior to. All told it's a good value for a solid easy to use micro 9. ( if you wanna save money on mags I'm told it will take kimber micro 9 mags (( with a modified base)) or Springfield 911 9mm mags)
