Excellent little...
Excellent little rifle, really glad I bought one. I'm right around 975-990 rounds through it. So far it eats any kind of brass, aluminum or steel-cased ammunition in any bullet weight and type, feeding out of cheap KCI 33-round Glock-type magazines. Slow-fire with the irons was getting me good groups, though with the rear sight all the way up on the barrel because of the take-down function, it's very easy to lose your sight picture when shooting fast. Red dot on the Pic. rail was the answer for me. Disassembly is easy and reminiscent of a 10/22, though I think the one real downside of the gun is the tiny plastic retaining clip for the recoil spring (took about 5 minutes to find it the first time I took the gun apart and it slid off the guide rod, whizzing off into the distance). The clip and the buffer pad it also retains got replaced with an M-Carbo stainless clip and softer buffer, which does help manage the blowback recoil a bit. If Ruger were to do a wood-stocked version I would buy it just to put the Midwest Industries rail on it, making it look like a PPSh or Suomi.
