A: Alejandro its a AR pistol Still not legal but its not a rifle
Author: Randy I.
A: No, this AR Pistol has too many restricted configurations to even begin to be considered for the CA Approved Roster. Prohibited in CA are Any semiautomatic pistols that do not have a fixed magazine, but have any one of the following: (1). Threaded barrel capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or suppressor. (2). Second handgrip (3). A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel that allows the bearer to fire the gun without burning their hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel. (4). Capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.

Q: Looking for the best match in magazines that really meshes with this AR pistol. Including lockback after last round ejection.

A: The PMAG magazines have a great reputation for function, are synthetic, I believe are lighter than aluminum versions. Also there have some great deals on them recently, including one with 10 PMAGs included with purchase of case of ammo (1000rd).

A: Tim - I have to stand my my "go to" mags here - MagPul Pmags. They are the best all-around functioning, lightest, reliable and durable mags I have found in my 45+ years of shooting M-16s and ARs. The best magazine value on the market in my opinion. They mesh with pretty much everything on the market. These ship without any magazine at all - hence the note "N/A" for capacity.

A: Timothy, Magpul's and others will work great however, my personal choice in Magazines are the "Lancer L5AWM "Steel Feed Lip" Magazines : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/84927/lancer+2320-03+l5awm+ar-15+magazine+30rd+223rem%2f556nato+opaque+black ------- https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/714012998/lancer+2320-31+l5awm+ar-15+magazine+30rd+223rem%2f556nato+translucent+clear

Q: I hear the 55 grain doesn't work so well in sub 10" guns like this one. Can anyone recommend a proficient round for this AR Pistol. I'm assuming at least 62 grain at a minimum but would like to hear from those who have this weapon and fire it regularly. Thanks very much for time.
Author: Timothy L.
(3) ANSWERS
A: Timothy, the best weight range for this barrel length is the 62gr bullet weight or SBR calibrated ammunition (I have a 7.5" barrel version and 62gr is the ticket) : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411557886/hornady+556+nato+75gr+sbr%e2%84%a2+training+50ct
Author: James G.
A: Tim - I have a 7.5" pistol I built myself, and have well over 1000 rounds of 55 grain ammo through it with no malfunction - including some steel cased Russian ammo. One could use the 5.56 62 grain but I've certainly not found a reason to do so. Every firearm has its own quirks, and if you have problems with 55 grain then try the 62 grain .. but I don;t anticipate you will have a problem.
Author: Rick C.
A: you may get one that works great with a 55 gr. bullet and the next one off the line may hate them I suggest trying a box or 2 before you go to the 62 grain bullets if it has a issue with the 55s I would shoot the 62 gran bullets for 800-1000 rounds then try the 55s again

Q: Ok, so the M-LOK rails are on the sides & the bottom & they are covered by guards. Can someone explain how to remove the guards w/o damaging them for an M-LOK virgin. Thanks.
Author: Timothy L.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Timothy, The rail covers are just held on with small allen screws. Just use the allen wrench included. Loosen screws and remove rail guards to install any M-Lok compatible accessories.
Author: Michael W.
A: Timothy, the guards are "Friction Fitted" (no screws) into the M-LOK Slotts same as most other AR's and are simple to remove/attach without any tools. Just pause the video and full screen at 35 sec's here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXQ9yG_R2Go
