Description
The VSKA rifle features an all new bolt carrier, front trunnion, and feed ramp machined from S7 tool steel and specially heat treated for maximum durability. S7, often referred to as a Shock-Resisting Tool Steel, is commonly used for tools like chisels and jackhammer tips as it has maximum shock resistance and high compression strength, while retaining toughness. The front trunnion and bolt are machined from billet and exceeded the durability goals for the project. Additionally, the VSKA features a carburized 4140 steel bolt, a chrome-moly 4150 barrel, and sports the RAK-1 Enhanced Trigger Group for an impressive trigger pull. Along with a manganese-phosphate finish, Century adds a little style to this rugged firearm with an American Maple wood buttstock and forend.

A: Daniel, The barrel should have concentric threads. If someone says it is not they have a bad one. To check remove the bolt carrier, put a light in the receiver and look down the bore from the muzzle - all circles should be concentric. Century Arms ARMS VSKA 762X39 16.5 barrel has a concentric left hand 14x1 metric thread and is ready for a variety of muzzle devices.

A: Daniel, Install the attachment. Remove the bolt carrier, put a light in the receiver and look down the bore from the muzzle - all circles should be concentric. Muzzle brakes and flash hiders usually have significant clearance so it would have to be way off before it could influence bullet flight. I haven't heard of any AKs with original barrels having this problem.

Q: Century website lists the receiver at 1/16" (or 1.6 mm) thickness.most AKs are 1mm thickness.Is this measurement accurate? AND if so,does this limit available stock adaptors and furniture.(I'm planning on buying a bone steel/CNC warrior steel folding stock,it comes in AKM 1mm trunnion fitmint and 1.6mm RPK trunnion fitting....thanx

A: Daniel, All below but me are correct the new production stamped receiver does not have typical AK scope mount option. Leave it to CIA. If you do get an AK with optic mount options there are mounting accessories out there.
