A: Felons are not allowed to own any firearm. It is a federal crime for person that has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year to possess a firearm of any type.

A: Unfortunately no Dylan. Federal Laws are strict and you don't want to take the chance of crossing those laws. Depending on the nature and length of time since your conviction, you may want to look into getting this expunged if possible to possibly restore your rights to own a firearm.

A: no different than a shotgun that can be taken down like a O/U in-fact transporting it when it is taken down would be less likely to be a issue as the gun is not able to be fired until you reassemble it
