I'm shooting this out...
I'm shooting this out of a savage 110 with 20" barrel and 1-10 twist. Chrono'd at 2550fps out of the muzzle, and was able to reliably hit targets out to 900 yards no problem . About half MOA accuracy with this combination. Not bad for a factory gun and factory ammo.

I recently purchased an AR-10 in .308, and I was trying to find factory ammunition that my rifle likes. The Federal Gold Medal .308 Winchester 185GR Berger OTM GM LR was my first choice, based on my experience with this ammunition in 6.5 Creedmoor. Q: I am using a 28" barrel with a 1:10 Twist rate wanted to know if i would be over spinning bullet for extreme long range?

A: 185 grain is a good weight for 1:10 twist ratio. You want heavier grain ammo for faster twist ratios. So this will work just fine, I'd actually say this is right around the preferred grain for your twist ratio. I'd buy a box or two try it out and if you get great accuracy from it then stock up. Hope this helps.

A: James, 1 in 10 will be just fine Sir. 1-in-10 in this caliber is not too tight of a twist for the lighter bullets and it will still shoot them just fine, but it will stabilize up to 190's. Cheers and stay safe!
