It is a sporter Mosin...
It is a sporter Mosin stock. You will probably have to sand the barrel channel to get the barrel to free float, and if you are adding a Timney trigger you will have to do a LOT of in-letting to make it fit. The butt pad does help tame the Mosin Russian Mule Kick, The buttpad is known to warp and pull away from the stock over time in the earlier models but supposedly that has been fixed in the later production. The sling studs are nice for quick release slings and are solid if you want to put on a harris style sling swivel bipod. Cheek comb is a nice height but will probably need a pad to make it higher if you are adding a scout scope.

I've noticed that...
I've noticed that others have had some fitment issues with this stock, but, none here. Everything dropped in perfectly and no modifications were necessary.

LOTS OF GRINDING!!! If...
LOTS OF GRINDING!!! If you do not own a dremel tool I do not recommend this stock. Not a simple drop in. After all the work done it looks pretty good. Does NOT lighten the weight of the rifle if that is what you are hoping.
