Nearly a year ago I got excited about the potential of the TFX PRO sights. Over the years I have purchased Heckler-Koch firearms with Meprolight Tru-Dots. I have become very comfortable with the tritium-filled green dots. I live in the far north, so ambient light, even in the "daytime", is often very limited. The Tru-Dots filled the bill for the most part, but in some circumstances I have trouble picking up the front sight. I decided to purchase a set of TFX PRO thinking the orange ring would benefit me here. I had them mounted on one of my VP40s, which I use as an experimental platform for enhancements. I was really impressed with the daylight brightness, and the orange ring really grabs the eye. It's much easier to do point shooting now, and the sight picture is really improved when pointing at a bullseye target no matter the colors or patterns on paper. In a side-by-side comparison in near darkness, the Tru-Dots are still notably brighter than TFX PRO front sight, but I really don't think that's a disadvantage. I don't want them too bright if I'm having to take cover in the dark. My experience with these sights over more than six months convinced me to buy another set of TFX PRO for a P30L. I really recommend TFX PRO. I'm a convert.
