Pros: they work very...
Pros: they work very well to muffle loud noises passively, so if the batteries are dead, they are still perfectly good "old fashioned" protective ear muffs. The speakers produces clear sound, and the batteries last a long time. Cons: the "auto cut-off" when it hears a gun shot works almost always, but not always... maybe 99% of the time. But every once in a while, it will fail to cut the speakers off, and you hear the "bang!" from someone nearby. The passive hearing protection still muffles the sound to safe-ish levels, but the speaker will give you a pretty loud noise for a split second (imagine using headphones to listen to music, and when you first turn it on, the volume is a bit too high and causes slight discomfort). Overall, it's a great product. I liked it so much, I bought a pair for my dad, who in turn liked it so much he bought a pair for my uncle.
