With every pistol or revolver I purchase comes the task of finding the mating game of finding the best fitting holster and usually that means buying at least 2 or three and trying to break them in to find the perfect fit. So you spend money to just have the comfort and use ability that is unique to a concept of a conceal carry weapon. This holster for the Ruger SP 101 2 1/2 is the exception to the rule. It's the only holster I've purchased that is a dead on no break in fit for the short barreled Ruger 357 SP101. I purchased two other name brand holsters made for the 2-3 inch Ruger SP101 just to see the difference and instead of trying to break them in , I sent them back. This custom fit hand made holster is the "Goldilocks fit" for the Ruger SP101, made of quality leather,double stitched, thumb break, just deep enough to cover the 2 1/2 barrel, and fits snug to the body at the perfect carry angle. I'm 6 ft 205 and with a sweater, jacket or xxl shirt it's undetectable and me, I like the added security of the snap thumb break because I'm always carrying something on or off the boats. This is the permit J frame holster. I tried it with my Taurus 85, S&W model 60 and the fit was great. My Taurus public defender was not a fit because it's cylinder size and length and foot print are not the J frame but any 5 shot 38/357short barrel would be adaptable. This company holster manufacturer working with buds also made a holster for my Rock Island 380 " Baby Rock" that fit like a glove. So now I'm buying my rifles, pistols, ammo, and now leather accessories at Buds.
