read several reviews that stated the drum mag had to be fitted. pro mag even includes instructions to do this. i did not need to do anything to the mag for fitting. it inserts and drops free better than the original mag that came with my saiga 12. so, it fits great and seems well made. i would make two observations about this mag though. first, the round drum shape makes it awkward to reach the fore stock when bringing the gun to battery. you have to reach around the drum, because of it's large size. seems awkward to me. the second observation, is the fact that hanging fifteen rounds under the gun adds quite a bit of weight. hang it on your hip, and it's no big deal. put it up to your shoulder, and it gets heavy pretty quickly. just something you should think about. overall pleased with the purchase, and would recommend it, if you can live with the weight and awkwardness.

A: Hi Carlton, Unfortunately, this will note fit Mossberg 500. Even if you have Venom conversion or 590M mag-fed version, both of those you specific type of magazine that will only fit Mossberg. The mag is in short supply right now but if you search "590M mag-fed detachable magazine" you should find some online. Cheers

A: Carlton, no Sir it will not. Mossberg uses proprietary magazines currently.
