The tenth round...
The tenth round sometimes pops out the top of this magazine (spring too strong? casing too weak?). It doesn't hold 10 rounds consistently. It doesn't fit: Savage Axis XP 308 Win 20" 4RD Black 3-9x40, it has no bottom release latch.

First, let me say...
First, let me say Bud's service and support is great, and Savage is great too, but their parts info for Savage mags is confusing. Savage customer support recommends calling them first, with your gun's SN and they will tell you the correct mag part numbers that are compatible. This mag IS NOT compatible with all the many variations of "Model 11's," for example Model 11 Trophy Hunter XP. I'm just going to have to learn how to live without a 10-round mag... heavy sigh of disappointment. Hope that helps brother.

A: 6.5mm Creedmoor is just slightly larger than .308 Winchester both in length and width. That being said, if that rounds fit without extra effort and the magazine will properly lock into the gun I don't see why it wouldn't work, although you may run into feeding issues. If you have the product already there is no danger in trying it, but if you have yet to buy anything I highly recommend buying a magazine that explicitly states it works with your chosen caliber.
