These mags worked great in my newer EMP 3. Nothing wrong with Mec-Gar mags, but it's a pity they are the sole manufacturer for the gun.

Questions & Answers
Q: Will this fit 1911 emp 9mm 3
Author: Rick D.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Rick, yes Sir. It will just extend below the Grip or course.
Author: James G.
A: Rick - it will 'fit' but will protrude below the grip - and using a full size magazine in the 3" EMP without a sleeve on the magazine can result in over insertion of the mag which could possibly bend your ejector. If you use it without the sleeve around the bottom of the mag, just take care to not "slam" it into place. Insert it only until it locks into place. That's much too nice of a gun to damage it simply to gain a couple of rounds in mag capacity. I believe Wilson Combat makes sleeves that go on the mags, to prevent over insertion, but not sure about that. Plus, the spring tension in larger mags is different than the officer size mags, and can result in the pistol not properly stripping the next round from the magazine and cause feeding problems.

Q: Will this fit the DS Prodigy? If not, do you have a 10-round magazine for the DS Prodigy? Unfortunately, we here in California cannot use anything more than that, as you know. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

(2) ANSWERS
A: Hi George, this will not work. There are 10rd Prodigy magazines, but they are out of stock everywhere. Model number PH6910, upc 706397969745 https://store.springfield-armory.com/1911-ds-10-round-double-stack-magazine-9mm/ I would contact SA at 800.680.6866
Author: Ed C.
A: No as Ed said because they are single stack, and the Prodigy is not. But magazines from Staccato do work and are available some places, if rather expensive. Either way the DS Prodigy is not on the CA handgun roster though. If that's somehow now a concern, Staccato 10-rounders here: https://gunmagwarehouse.com/catalogsearch/result/?capacity=144&q=staccato
