This optic is nice!...

This optic is nice! Note that the Osight is still new at the writing of this review. Thus, I have not had it long and neither has anyone else. However, we're off to a good start. It mounts easily. I used a little blue Lock Tight. It is still tight after about 300 rounds. It's not too bulky on the Sig P365 XMacro. I prefer something more powerful than a 9mm, so the point of this little Sig was that it was little. It would have been pointless if the optic and light turned it into a big gun. As you can see from the photo, the whole package with the Osight is quite compact. The reticle is beautiful. I sighted it in rested at 25 yards using the dot. I train and carry with the circle dot activated. My astigmatism does make the reticle sparkle a bit, but the circle dot is better than a dot alone. Either is better with glasses, but I can acquire it without glasses… your results will depend on your own anatomy and how much you stare at a screen. The circle dot enables me to shoot with both eyes open as I did with iron sights when I was a young Marine (Bindon aiming method before it was called that). It's a great sight for fast acquisition. The zero has held great so far. It is worth addressing the fact that it is a closed emitter. Look an open emitter is fine if you only shoot on the range. I shoot outside. Have you ever had your open emitter optic fill up with water like a cup when it's raining? Not only can you not see the dot, good luck trying to find your suppressor height front sight post through that. A closed emitter, like the Osight, is much better. Rain is still rain. It's still going to fog up when you come inside from freezing temperatures. However, at least it doesn't fill up with water… or sand, mud, sawdust from your chainsaw. The cover that recharges the optic is cool. It snaps right on with a magnet and the top indicates the charge. If that charging cover is durable over time, then it's a neat feature. Overall, I highly recommend the Osight. I'm going to see what Olight makes for my 10mm handguns.
