One of my Primary...
One of my Primary Weapons was an HK MP5 Navy Model for over 10 years. Unbelievable weapon and by far the most dependable weapon I was issued in my former career, where dependability meant a lot. I would have loved to have another HK MP5 but not in my budget. I had observed mixed reviews on the MAC 5 with most being favorable but for the money I wanted to give it a try. Mistake. I initially took the MAC 5 home and thoroughly cleaned and lubricated it. I noticed that the quality of of the appearance seemed OK; however, upon disassembly and cleaning it was obviously a bit rough. When taking it to the range, I discovered that the mags were not the best either. I put just under 90 rounds of quality ball practice ammo though the weapon and had 17 malfunctions (all extraction issues) and that was before I quit counting. I immediately called the store (Buds Guns) and told them the issues. I took it back to them and they tested it on their range, experienced the same issues and provided a full refund. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE I then ordered a Century Arms from them and the quality was significantly better. Ran 3 mags (90 rounds, same ammo, with out issue) Yes, it cost a few hundred more but well worth it. If you are trying to choose between the two MP5 clones I discussed to with the CENTURY ARMS AP5. Better finish inside and out. I am really pleased with AP5, it's dependability, and would give it 5 Stars. Buds has a customer for life now and Century Arms has a fan.

Thank you Buds for another smooth transaction and quick shipping to my FFL. Especially considering I purchased this on Christmas day. I added a folding brace and took it out to the range today and ran 500 rounds of NATO 124gr. It functioned flawlessly with not one issue. Did a lot of research before purchasing the AP-5 and bought a few German parts for back-up purposes only. I purchased an extractor, extractor springs, ejector and an ejector spring, also an updated firing pin spring. (I don't think I'll be using these for a while, but it's nice to have some extra parts) The AP-5 functioned perfectly as is with the original MKE Turkish made parts. The MKE magazine that came with the AP-5 functioned perfectly as well. I also purchased three HK magazines that were quite pricey but worked amazingly well and easy to load. The welds and finish are excellent with no flaws. The trigger isn't bad. It's a smooth shooter and an excellent purchase. Even though this gun is perfect and made with HK tooling in Turkey. I still want a new German HKSP5. Peace~

Very pleased with this...
Very pleased with this gun I have about 200 rounds through with no stopages. The gun comes with a nice case one magazine and a 3 point sling. My only gripe is that gun was selling elsewhere online with the brace attached for cheaper.

Hi Roger, the Core series is the same basic gun as the original AP5, but it just comes with the gun and 1 magazine. It is the bare bones model. A lot of the extra goodies have been excluded to lower the price. No extra mags, cleaning kit, slings, optics rail.
You can add a pistol brace, but you cannot add a stock without registration and a $200 tax stamp, as that would turn it into a SBR.
