Awesome to shoot-has dlc coating which gives it great look & wear resistance. Has all good features scalloped slide bevel magazine well,novak sights, ambi safety out of the box-- great for me I lefty! I think this Combat Elite caters to many who don't want to spend for custom . Waited for awhile to find this model, Bud's came through again =and got it in stock. No where had this that I could find. Shipping was fast also. Will buy from Bud's again.

Buds was great. No one else even had this gun, no one has Colts! Buds had it and at a fair price. Shipped out and as at my ffl in 3 days.\r The gun, well it's a Colt. And Colt does it right. The photo's do not do this gun justice, it is gorgeous. Not as shiny as you would think. I put one hundred rounds through. First box was flat nose and the very fist round had failure to feed. So I ran 16 rounds of ball ammo and had no more problems after that. Was shooting 10 yards and connecting all the holes into two inch groups. Very, very accurate. \r Just a great gun.

A: Trev: The slide and frame 'flats' (sides) are highly polished stainless while the rest is more of a darkened, matte stainless. Those highly polished flats ARE almost like a mirror. The controls and sights are black stainless, and the grips are black. This is a Series 70 1911, meaning it doesn't have the firing pin 'drop safety', but you get the much better (IMO) trigger than on the Series 80. Beautiful piece of worksmanship
