The FN 509 Midsize MRD is a striker-fired 9mm pistol built for concealed carry with a midsized grip and a mounting system designed for miniature red dot optics. It features fully ambidextrous controls, all-black co-witness iron sights, improved texturing with two included interchangeable backstraps, and a flatter-faced trigger for a more consistent press. The FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System lets you direct-mount compatible optics while retaining the ability to use the iron sights.

The FN 509 Compact MRD...
The FN 509 Compact MRD is fantastic and i see why LAPD adopted it. This pistol is extremely accurate and reliable and looks amazing. The FDE finish on mind has held up great and still looks brand new after 700 rounds. The optic mounting system is one of the best in my opinion and my Holosun 507c works fantastic on top of it. The only thing i dislike about the pistol is the trigger. Its gritty and a little heavy, not to mention im not a fan of the M&P style hinged triggers. Solution to that problem? Throw in an Apex trigger and this pistol is easily a 9/10 all day.
