I'm a 1911 man, and as...
I'm a 1911 man, and as such I've owned many of them in my 64 years. All of them were well known name-brand weapons, such as Colt, S. A., Wilson, Kimber, etc., and I enjoyed each one of them. Then I bought the Springfield 1911 TRP Carry in Coyote Tan, and for the first time I'm in love with a gun! In my view, it's pretty much the perfect handgun. I love the way it looks, as the black cerakoted small parts complement the tan frame and slide beautifully. I especially like the bobtail cut mag housing, and the heavily textured pattern on the grips. Very attractive, but also practical as my hands feel almost velcro'd to the gun. The pattern edges are almost sharp, leaving you always aware of your grip - - which I like. This weapon shoots beautifully, giving me wonderful, tight groups. Haven't yet finished breaking it in so it still feels stiff, but it's a stiffness that's born of hand-fitted partsthat move like they are designed to, but have zero play. Every part of the gun functions perfectly, and you can feel it connecting to the other parts in a way I've never felt before. So the feel or "fit" of the gun reminds me of the way it feels to drive a 1965 Jaguar XKE Roadster. It's an engineering masterpiece that someone can't adequately describe to you - - you just have to experience it yourself. This is an expensive firearm by most folks' standards (including mine), but it's well worth the cost in my opinion. You won't be disappointed!
