Winchester 30-30...
Winchester 30-30 Brass...So far, I am not overly impressed. Every mouth was deformed. No way would I attempt to load these without FL sizing. They varied in length from 2.017 to 2.051...with only 1 piece at 2.017... I found 17 pieces over 2.047. Colors varied from beautiful shiny brass..( the Majority ) to a dark, almost brown, tint. They honestly look like "old" brass picked up at range and cleaned. I'd say 43 primer pockets were nice and firm, with 7 going in without much effort. FYI, I use Winchester primers.... The weights were good..after trimming to 2.030..they were between 137.7 (2 Pieces)--139.5 grs (3 Pieces) with vast majority weighing 138.6 grs. Not too bad.. GAME CHANGER ?? Nah, these are 30-30's. I'll be shooting 25-100 yds. I realize why certain brass is double and triple the cost of this purchase. I'm shooting deer, not 1000 yards competitions on ESPN. Will I purchase Winchester again? Probably. I resize all my New Brass anyway. These came in a Plastic bag vs Cardboard and I figure they get banged around more, and thus, the deformed mouths. I would have liked to have seen the Lengths a little closer together, but I always check and trim before loading anyway. Havent shot any of the Loads, but I feel confident they will do fine for close in Hunting. I enjoy my time in the Reloading Room and an extra step or 2 doesnt upset me...for the price I paid. Hope this helps ya out......
