Took it to the range...
Took it to the range and sights are spot on. I really like the grips, allowing for a nice amount of purchase around a pretty small handgun, as well a some relatively aggressive texture to keep it from slipping around. Trigger feels very smooth on the pull, and very tactile on the break and reset. Very lightweight, and I can see it being very easy to carry. Recoil is pretty moderate, and didn't really start slapping my hand until I started firing strong hand only. I would say compared to the average compact sized polymer 9mm that might be considered for concealed carry the overall force is similar, but where the 9mm might be a little more snappy, this revolver directs more of the recoil into your hands. And while I might not recommend this firearm to someone with arthritic hands or weaker grip strength, but I would say for the average adult male with average grip strength it's very manageable. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. The price was very reasonable. It feels like a quality, well-made firearm, and every aspect and detail is what I wanted for my first revolver.

I made this purchase...
I made this purchase to fill a hole in my firearm inventory. I wanted the smallest and lightest revolver for use as a trail gum while hiking and backpacking. My fear of bear and other wildlife is much less than my fear of the increasing number of wackos out in the woods. The Charter Arms Undercover Lite fits the bill perfectly. Even with two speed loaders it is lighter than my loaded Glock 26. Granted, it is a five shot in .38. Truth be told, I don't intend on being in a long term shootout. If I can't stop a trail incident with five shots, I doubt ten or 20 would help me. The gun itself is perfect in every way. Even the grip fits my relatively large hand, although barely. It fires exactly like you would expect a short barrel revolver to fire. I have the full spur because double action firing revolvers will never be as accurate as thumbing back the hammer. If I need to hit anything beyond 20 yards I'm hiding behind a tree or rock anyway, so I don't need a long range pistol. Probably the only thing I can say to detract from the gun is that I can't find any speed loader that works. The grip just slightly interferes with fully engaging the rounds in the loader. The tips of the rounds will partially go into the chamber but are slightly cocked. It could be challenging under pressure. A skinnier set of grips would likely solve the problem but right now, I like the grips as is. A good purchase and Bud's made it easy. From payment through tracking, everything went perfectly. I would only recommend trying to use a preferred FFL.
