Description
Product Overview
The Chiappa Rhino 60DS Gold Plated .357 Magnum Revolver is built around Chiappa’s bottom-fired revolver concept, which helps keep recoil and muzzle rise lower by reducing the bore axis height relative to the shooter’s hand. A lightweight aluminum alloy frame and a barrel shroud contribute to an easy-to-carry feel, while the fully enclosed firing mechanism supports both single-action and double-action firing.
Key Features
- Lightweight aluminum alloy frame with barrel shroud for improved carry handling
- Hexagonal cylinder helps keep the revolver width to a minimum
- Bottom-fired cylinder design reduces muzzle rise and felt recoil by lowering the bore axis
- Walnut grips for a secure, comfortable hold
- Fiber-optic front sight with adjustable rear sight for faster alignment
- Single-action and double-action enclosed firing mechanism
If you want a distinctive revolver that shoots and carries with modern ergonomics, the Chiappa Rhino 60DS is a strong choice.

The gun arrived from...
The gun arrived from Buds as promised, on time and well packaged. Upon firing, I noticed very little felt recoil or muzzle jump. I also noticed my right thumb got lots of powder burns even though my left thumb did not. Both thumbs were down and back to protect against the lower barrel position cylinder gap flash as directed in the manual. This is a painful gun to fire. After a few cylinders the hammer became progressively harder to cock in single action although the DA pull remained consistent. Then suddenly the gun failed to fire. Upon examination, it became obvious the firing pin no longer protruded from the rear of the frame to impact the primer. The pin was either stuck or broken completely....The gun has been back to the factory repair after less than a full days total range time, where it remains to this day. for a few weeks now. Chiappas customer service on one of their broken, premier new revolvers is very slow. No word on when to expect it back either. I must say I regret this very expensive purchase and should have bought another new Python with 6' barrel, instead of this Rhino. The Pythons actually work and are accurate and reliable. The Chiappa, not at all. I must say the unique looks and recoil impulse are not sufficient to make up for its lack of reliably. I definitely recommend against self defense carry with this revolver.
