Cimmaron Arms are made...
Cimmaron Arms are made by Uberti in Italy. No doubt they are shipped to the US via ocean transport. It is for this reason they come well oiled, to help prevent rusting in a maritime environment. So anybody ordering one of these should expect that condition out of the box. Could be worse, they could come covered in grease you know. As for the gun, the trigger pull is very nice right out of the box on the one I got. Fixed sights, as with most revolvers of this type. The gun shot a little low and left with 130 grain Winchester full metal jacket flat noses. ( At 7 yards ) Odds are the point of impact will be closer to the point of aim with 158 grain bullets. Accuracy wise, the 130 grain loads did very well though. Using a 2 hand hold at 7 yards, a group you could cover with a playing card was easy enough to shoot. Unloading the gun was slow for me, as the ejector rod pushed empties about half way out of the chambers, and the brass did not fall free on it's own. I had to pull them out the rest of the way myself. Removing the cylinder to clean the gun is a bit tricky. In order to get the cylinder pin out enough to remove the cylinder, you have to partially push in on the ejector rod handle. This raises the finger grasping part of the rod enough to allow the cylinder base pin to pass under that finger grasping part. If this is not done, the cylinder pin stops when it gets to the finger grasping part, and thus will not come out far enough to remove the cylinder. Overall, this is a fun little gun to shoot I think. It is a scaled down version of a full size single action army as far as the frame goes, but the grip was large enough for me to use with no problem. I guess somebody with very large hands might not like it, but I had no problem.
