The Cimarron Thunderer is a classic Colt-style .45 Long Colt revolver built with a forged Old Model color case hardened frame and a blued finish. Texas Jack (Mike) Harvey’s grip-frame approach blends classic Colt Thunderer and 1873 SAA grip dimensions into a single Thunderer grip frame, paired here with a one-piece walnut grip and fixed iron sights for a traditional handling feel.

Cimarron Thunderer...
Cimarron Thunderer 3.5" 45 Long Colt Revolver Out of the box it shot quite low because the front sight was too tall. That's the way I like it. I filed down the front sight to bring the point of impact up to the point of aim at 20 yards. Now it's perfect. I also use factory 45 Schofield cartridges in it to increase its versatility. The grips are very comfortable. It's my favorite handgun.

This Cimarron version...
This Cimarron version of the SAA is just like all the others- Fantastic! I was not sure if I would like the Birds head grip, but it is great, it really fills the hand and has the usual point of aim like the standard grip. Fit and finish are flawless. I will be getting another as I like this one so well. CC

Just got my second...
Just got my second pair of these Cimmarons CA346's. Loved the first two so much I ordered another pair. These do have knurled/slotted cylinder pin retaining screw where the first had slotted only. These are not just weekend plinkers but will be occasionally carried as serious ccw guns. I carry stainless so as not to wear bluing from standard finish. Although I have lots of 9mm's and snubs single actions are my favorite carry gun. I got a number of one ragged hole groups at a local indoor range at only 7 yards but with older eyes and not too bright lights was delighted with them. Fit and finish are top notch. 7 stars if they had that many to rate.

Q: I've looked over the specs for this and there are a number of hammer safety features that come standard on this gun. This does mean that one could carry the gun safely with 6 rounds loaded, correct?
