I ordered the Cimarron...
I ordered the Cimarron Arms Doc Holliday special, and first I must say that I ordered it on a Tuesday from Bud's, and in 30 minutes the order was moved to shipping, and then it was shipped first thing on Weds, and I had the gun on Friday at my FFL's shop. So the process itself couldn't have been easier. Super service! As far as the gun itself, it is beautiful. It looks very well put together, and haven't shot it yet, but plan on shooting it soon. Great purchase from Bud's!

Have not shot yet, but...
Have not shot yet, but when cocking with a loaded cylinder, gun locked up solid. Had to tip barrel down and let the bullets fall away from the recoil shield. Seems there was a sharp edge catching the edge of the round as it was about to rotate into firing position. I lightly sanded the sharp edge and everything is OK now. The manual states parts are hand-fitted to a close tolerance and to be careful not to force anything into place. I agree and was very pleased with just how well everything fits together. I look forward to shooting very soon and will follow up with my results (if Bud's will allow).

Q: The manual was vague on appropriate ammo. Can you shoot high pressure (I.e. buffalo bore etc) in these pistols or are they more for cowboy action loads.

A: They are a cowboy gun. The ammo should be appropriate. Only regular 45 Colt.
