Great carry revolver....
Great carry revolver. I have a slight preference for the cylinder release of the J-frame but the LCRx's trigger and replaceable front sight can't be beat.

I am very happy with this purchase. I chose this articular model particularlybecause is offers single and double action firing in addition to its inconspicuous concealed carry profile; plus P option, and because it's made in the United States of America.I did consider other U.S. competing models, however this one also met my budget requirements. I am not in a situation where I have to carry everyday and most days I can not because I am not allowed to do so on the Military Installation where I am employed. My hands are not large so Ruger LCRx fits nicely in my palm. Since 38 Special is a well know caliber, there are many options for different types of rounds for defense and range practice firing. I hope I will never be placed in a position where I have to use it to protect myself or my beautiful loving Wife. Buds provided the best price (I paid by electronic check) and warranty option.

A: Nothing about the pistol itself William. There are many more of the "Hammerless" Model in stock which has the price much lower than the lower stock "Hammer" Model. Always buy at peak stock level to save $ on firearms at Buds.

Q: What are the benefits for this hammered version vs. hammerless version? Which version is more safe and practical for the concealed carry? What is the trigger pull for the single action?

A: YU - Benefits of hammered version are that one can easily use a thumb to pull back the hammer to fire single action. Can't do that with a hammerless action. For carry purposes, in a defensive situation, one is very very unlikely to take the time to pull back the hammer. In a situation where every second matters, the first objective is to make the shot and make it count. Therefore defensive situation would be, 99% of the time, double action - and that is how one should practice with this revolver. Shoot it in double action at the range so you are accustomed to the trigger pull, the motions of shooting, and develop the habit of just shooting it double action without having to fumble around looking for a hammer to pull back. I carried a small revolver for years and preferred the hammerless version, to avoid any possible hang up of the hammer on clothing or other gear. Trigger pull single action is 6 lb for the LCR.

A: YU Z, the "Hammerless" version has less chance of getting hung up when drawing due to the smooth contours. Trigger pull single action is 6 lb for the LCR and 10.5lb for Double Action.
