Bought this Ruger Blackhawk .357 magnum to replace my 50 year old Ruger Blackhawk.357 magnum I purchased in 1976 (marked - "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty"). Planning on passing it down to my grandson and needed to put it away, even as it still shot superbly and never failed me. This new one shots just as well as its predecessor, and why not, it's a rugged Ruger!

Q: Can the 9mm convertible cylinder be purchased separately or due they have to come as a matched set from Ruger only? Does Ruger have to fit them to the specific gun?

A: Joel, normally the set is the best option. Timing is intricate and there is a higher chance minor timing adjustments must be made for the specific pistol. Ruger Customer Service would be able to provide the most accurate answer though at Telephone: 336-949-5200 -- (Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm ET)

A: I would imagine Ruger would have to fit the cylinder to your specific firearm. You could have a qualified gun Smith do so also. I'd contact Ruger at 336-949-5200 to see what they suggest. Hopefully you can figure it out. Know I'd love to buy one and do the same.
