Exceptional S&W J-frame! Sights, improved trigger, and stainless-steel construction, and G10 grips make this pistol worth the extra cost. Q: I've read numerous articles about ghis Lipsey special that say it rated and sights are regulated for +P yet it does not indicate that.

A: Yes, you can shoot +P out of this Model. But, with that spicy high pressured round, I wouldn't make it a constant load in for range day. The higher pressures can cause premature wear to the internals and increase your cleaning intervals.

A: No, the S&W Model 642UC .38 Special 1-7/8" 5RD XS NS is not designed to use moonclips. Moonclips are primarily used with revolvers chambered for cartridges with a rebated or flat case mouth, like .45 ACP or 10mm, to aid in extracting the spent casings. The Model 642UC uses the standard rimmed .38 Special cartridge, which does not require moonclips for extraction,
