Nice gun. Beautiful....
Nice gun. Beautiful. Taurus QC is a bit loose (a small hairline barrel scratch visible at certain angle, slightly raised edge on one side of trigger, a few light machine marks/buffs on the outside metal handle) but it's good. This could also be a sign of the times. The action isn't as smooth as any given Smith & Wesson, but again it's good for the price. This is my 2nd Taurus, the first was a parkerized model 66 a few years ago, with wood grips which had zero cosmetic blemishes. That one shoots well. I like that this 856 has 6 chambers. P is demarcated under the barrel with an asterik after .38 spcl. Keep in mind matte stainless is arguably likely to scratch worse than a polished version. (I bought mine for 407 plus tax, 425 with a 30 dollar mail in rebate which was approved but I've yet to receive). Good feel in hand (I'm 6'3). I've yet to shoot her. I heard 38's are better as snubs than .357's for ballistics, weight and noise reasons, particularly if you are buying a more economic brand--get the .38. Bottom line--I'm not kicking her out of bed. ^^

A: Hi Robert, this is rated for .38sp +P ammo, but it does not require it. You can shoot standard .38sp rounds also. The .38 Special +P ammo is a more powerful version of the .38 Special cartridge. It delivers increased velocity and energy, making it suitable for self-defense purposes. A: Hi Robert and welcome. There is a significant difference between the two in 4 inch plus barrel lengths. less so in snub nosed pistols due to +P requiring 4 inches of barrel length to completely burn the additional powder. Stick with standard .38 Special for snubbies for quicker follow up shots, less muzzle blast and fireball due to unburnt powder (point of diminishing returns). Longer barrels, the difference can be 80 to over 100 fps additional velocity. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
