I'm on the fence with...
I'm on the fence with this one because it's a beautiful gun. However, my first time at the range and around maybe 25 rounds in, the front site fell off. I talked to Taylor's, and I told them about the site. The Uberti parts are on backorder, but they gave me some tips to hammer in the front brass site. I have no issue with doing this since it's such a small effort, but the site did not stay and blew out again after another round. I tapped the site in again when trying to get the barrel cleared, as seen in the picture. Then there was an issue with Squibbs or something with the bullets getting stuck in the barrel. I don't know if it was something with the ammo (look for my review on that!) or something with the barrel, but the barrel is basically destroyed. I was able to drill out the bullets, but there is brass in the rifling of the barrel now that cannot, nor will not come out. I've tried scraping. I've tried hammering. I've tried freezing and heating, and nothing is working. I checked with a couple of gunsmith's in the area, and they all agree that this is either a warranty issue with the ammo or the gun manufacturer and barrel will not be safe anymore even if the scrap metal comes out. I really like this gun, but the quality certainly is not as I expected from some of the reviews I read about Taylor's and Company and Uberti. I talked to Bud's about this, and they asked me to give them a chance to directly work with both Taylor's and the ammo manufacturer to see if they can rectify the issue.
