Wanted to say this is a fantastic vintage looking and very well made Thompson 1927 A1. Received a few days ago from Bud's purchased on a Tuesday and was delivered on Thursday. It has a very nice oiled walnut stock with great lines and all the parts fit perfect with a nice blued finish. Fired so far about 300 rounds thru with only 3 hang ups but breaking in very well. Also purchased from Bud's the 50 round drum magazine and it works great as long as you read the instructions as how to load and wind. The only complaint I have as others have mentioned the bolt is on the hard side to pull back for my old hands but that small problem was fixed by installing a Howell reduced spring kit it is easy to install and now the pull is much more manageable for me and even more of a pleaser to shoot. Yes it is on the heavy side at around 13 pounds but when you get her going you soon forget about the weight and the fun shooting starts. I have always wanted one of these great weapons and took me many years to pull the trigger but very happy I did as totally love this Thompson and Bud's is the place to buy as they have great service at a fantastic price so if you always wanted one like me here you go and remember Howell for the reduced spring kit you wont go wrong with this investment.

This Classic is AMAZING, The look and feel are fantastic, when it arrived in it's own Chicago Typewriter case, the anticipation to open the case was a rush, and I sure was not disappointed when I opened it, to find such Quality.. OMG this was the Tommy Gun I have dreamed of owning for 60 years...after a quick cleaning and taking a moment to get familiar with it, I took it to the range, and what fun, I ran a 20 round stick thru, no troubles, then ran a 30 round stick and was amazed recoil was like that of a 22, and it was pretty accurate, even when playing and shooting from the hip....then came the drum, ya burn thru ammo pretty quick, but it was worth it....Now I want an old Classic car and a fedora hat, and FYI I found a violin case for it on line for 200 bucks and you should see the looks ya get at the range, Good times Great product, and Thanks so much Buds for having it priced right, and such quick service, it got to my FFL Lic dealer real fast....and was in great shape even before it came out of the box.. if you have the means to get one, do it now you won't be sorry.... Myself I'm ordering more ammo from Buds for my next Tommy Gun Adventure......

Beautiful weapon, it does seem to jam a lot. Still trying to figure out why. After I cleaned it things have gotten worse. I did find a page that stated to let that carbon build up and it will shoot well. We will see.

There is no exception mentioned for purchasing of non-compliant rifles. For a definitive resollution, you might consult a CA FFL licensed firearms dealer as I am sure they would know for certain.

Q: The T1 1927A1 Thompson SA 45 ACP 16.5" 20+1 Walnut Stk picture shows a drum, but it comes with a stick. Other Kahrs come with a 50-round drum. Is there a drum(s) available for this one? Cost?
