A: Angelica - James G and Michael W have probably overlooked the caliber of the rifle. Rimfire rifles (22LR and 17HMR, for example) are not subject to the CA restrictions on assault weapons. This gun would be fine without the magazine, as it is over 10 rounds. If you truly want it, suggest you contact Bud's directly at 1-859-368-0371 (9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri) or use the "chat now" button located at the bottom right hand portion of your screen, (9am-9pm EST 7 days a week) and ask Bud's to ship it without a magazine. They will probably be willing to remove the magazine and then ship the rifle to your FFL. You could then find a CA compliant magazine (10 rounds) to buy for the rifle. .
