Finished in black with a black Melonite barrel and hardcoat anodized aluminum receiver, it’s paired with a 15-inch M-LOK handguard and Magpul MOE carbine components for a practical, modern setup.

This Diamondback DB15 rifle features a carbine-length, medium 4150 ChromeMoly barrel, Carbine-length gas system with pinned gas block, and a shot-peened Mil-Spec 8620 bolt carrier. A: Hi Tim, the barrel is 4150 CrMov (Chrome Moly Vanadium). The "50" in 4150 steel is an indicator that the barrel steel has a carbon content near .50% (Don't mis-read that, it is not 50%, but one half of 1%) Carbon is what Diamondback has decided to call this series of rifles. A: When a firearm is chambered for 5.56 it can also shoot .223. 5.56 would be the primary caliber here because if this were chambered Only for. 223. Then it could not fire the higher pressured 5.56 cartridge.
