The Henry H015 single-shot break-open rifle in .223 Remington features a matte blue/black steel frame paired with an American walnut stock. A 22-inch round barrel is topped with a semi-buckhorn rear sight and brass bead front sight, with the receiver drilled and tapped for optional scope mounting.

I absolutely love this...
I absolutely love this rifle. It is simple, rugged, attractive, accurate. I measured the trigger pull at 3.5 lbs. Outstanding. One youtube video I watched about the Henry Single shot showed that it could not be opened unless pointed downward. Not the case with my rifle. It opens easily in any orientation. I suggest buying the trigger extension and Weaver 82 scope rail. But even if you do not, this is a fun, accurate, well made rifle. My only problem is deciding which caliber to buy next.

What's to say other...
What's to say other than it's a Henry. Well one thing. If you need glasses or distance it's difficult to use iron sights. And again its difficult to mount a scope. Pretty much have to buy a rail from henry made by evolution. I bought a vortex 3x9x40 crossfire package with weaver MEDIUM rings. Too low and had a hammer clearance issue. Switched to high rings. Sighted in at 75 yds with a 3" group. I have went back further yet but feel it will be very accurate at 250+.. I get factory reman ammo to budget my cost . Sure other .223 rifles are available, mostly AKs ,but I wanted a single shot, which requires less ammo, and improve shooting skills. Good marksmanship only takes one.

Q: Does anyone know the rate of twist and if this rifle has an ejector or extractor? If it's a 1X9, has anyone had success with heaver bullets?

A: Hi Anthony, TheTwist Rate is 1:9 and comes with extractor. Heavy bullets are fine through this. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Weaver 82 scope mounts (not included) and it comes with a fully adjustable folding leaf rear sight matched to a brass bead front sight. Ultra light an easy to manage, this rifle is perfect for hiking the back country to unspoiled hunting grounds, or introducing a new hunter to the great outdoors.
