This rifle is...
This rifle is absolutely gorgeous. I love the long picatinny rail. I purchased a Vortex Scout Scope for it, as well as a Vickers Blue Force hunting sling. The Scout scope should allow me to mount it forward so that I can keep the iron sights intact. I purchased a Monstrum quick detach mount as well. A friend of mine is setting it up for me. I look forward to shooting it when the weather is warmer. As an aside, I don't like the idea of scoping a lever action rifle for aesthetical reasons but I am ok with a quick detachable forward mounting scout scope. I will leave the scope detached and in a nice scope case for the most part.

I have always wanted a...
I have always wanted a lever-action rifle to call my own, but had never been in a situation where I could afford one that I liked. Thankfully, I was in a position to purchase this Marlin 1894, and I am very glad that I did. What first surprised me was the overall size and weight of the rifle. It is very compact and light thanks to the laminate stock. Even fully loaded and equipped with a scope and sling, it is very manageable and is not an issue to carry on extended hunting trips. While I have not been able to shoot it extensively, it seems reliably accurate and the recoil is minimal. The action is crisp and very smooth, making it effortless to work the lever. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and the overall Bud's experience. I have purchased firearms and other items from Bud's in the past, and am always impressed by how smoothly the transactions go. Looking forward to the chance where I can take the 1894 out for a day at the range.
