Are you kidding me? I...
Are you kidding me? I bought this rifle for $762.87, after Savage's $100 mail in rebate! Picked it up at my friendly local FFL, inspected it and everything was as it should be. So far I have bought 2 pistols and 2 rifles through Buds, with zero complaints or issues of any kind with either Buds, the purchases or the delivery process and got the best prices. As for this Savage BA10 308, loving it with zero regret. Been wanting a 308 bolt action and had been looking around for a couple months, this popped up for sale, on sale and I just couldn't resist, clicked buy in about 3 wide eyed blinks and 1 minute of scratching my head to see if it was for real and a new in the box item, it was a for sure good deal I bought it dang near instantly. \\r\ \\r\ When I got the rifle home I ordered then installed a Precision Armament A04-012 M41 MUZZLE BRAKE 7.62MM, Vortex Optics Precision Matched Rings 30mm - Height 0.87 inches - Picatinny Mount, Vortex Optics Defender Flip Cap Set - Eyepiece E-10 (41.5-46mm) & Objective Lens Cover O-50 (55-59 mm)and Vortex Optics Viper Riflescope 50 mm Sunshade. The Vortex Viper VPR-M-06MD 6.5x20x50 PA scope I already had on hand. \\r\ \\r\ Took it to the range and spent the time it took to adjust the stock, scope and all to fit me. Shooting from a wobbly wooden bench at 100 yards, using a couple of lousy ill-fitting sandbags under the stock, holding steady was a little challenging with a crappy bench and getting used to and finding the right stock/scope eye relief adjustment and focus. The final group results, after zeroing and fitting the scope/stock for me, was 1.1MOA but that was me being bad at steadying the butt on the sandbags slipping around on me. The rifle was trying to give me half MOA, as there are basically 3 groups, the 1st two shots and then the 2nd two and 3rd; but I was fighting the sandbags slipping around under my stock. In short, I am pleased and expecting next range trip to get my sub half MOA groups, then take it out to 200 and 300 yards. \\r\ \\r\ Here is a picture of the setup and first shots at 100 yards as I fought with my unsteady stock bracing. Basically I had to keep shoving the bags under the stock as they slid off the bench to the ground after the 1st 2 shots, which the first 2 were the shots at the center of the target. The following 3 shots were after I put the sand bags back on the bench and started again, fighting them and losing my indexing and moving the bag under the stock a 3rd time. Anyway, more range time and work on my control, the rifle will deliver no doubt. Just have to do my part.\\r\ https://ibb.co/wMG0qhM\\r\

Extremely pleased with...
Extremely pleased with this rifle so far. \r \r Although you have to move the cheek rest out of the way, it was an easy boresight after scope was mounted. First three rounds at 50yds were a little larger than a single ragged hole. Took it to 100yds with the Berger Ammunition, half MOA out the box with 168gr Berger ammo (classic hunter bullets). Trigger is exceptionally light and crisp; ~2lb pull without adjustment. The best accutrigger I've had on a Savage so far. \r \r Very comfortable to shoot. Despite some reviews, I've found the cheek riser to be comfortable and to hold position. If you have a scope with a short eye relief, then you may want the cheek riser to be a little longer. You can shorten the LOP to get closer to the scope without your cheek being on the leading edge of the riser. I'd say this is a scope issue instead of a negative on the rifle. \r \r What I'd like to see change is the sling arrangement. Sling stud up front does not swivel. QD cup on rear means you need to get a sling that doesn't have the sling swivels sewn on so you can replace one with a QD cup sling mount. Another option would be to place an MLOK QD cup on the fore end and get a sling with two QD cup swivels. That may actually be better because it helps relieve my only other issue; shooting from bags. For me, I had to be careful to keep the fore end sling stud off the bag as well as the magazine. Failure to do so would affect accuracy when the mag/stud hit the rest. Placing an mlok QD on the side would make for an easier carry, allow removal of the forward stud and give greater flexibility with bags.\r \r My particular rifle preferred 168gr over 150gr bullets but your mileage may vary.\r \r Great experience with Buds Gun Shop. Matched price and fast shipping!
