I waited until I put a...
I waited until I put a ggod amount of ammo through this gun to post a review. I have now put about 800 rounds through it (in about a week). Had a few problems at first with ejectors grabbing the spent casing. Lubed it and the problem worked itself out. Not another ejection issue in hundreds of rounds. The mag took some getting used to but now I guess I have it down. Hated it at first, little tricky to load but with practice it suddenly became easy. That is the only negative about this gun. Very accurate. Very. And it is a beautiful gun, the picture doesn't do it justice. I have a bunch of 22's and this is right at the top of the list and not an expensive gun. Glad I bought it and I won't have to hide it when the democrats come to my door looking for semi's.

Q: I have looked on savage web site and searched the web with no luck. I am trying to figure out if the barrel on this gun is stainless. only info I can fin says matte finish, so my question is it matte black or stainless. looks stainless in pictures but they can be deceiving

A: Eric, this UPC code is for a "Blued Action and Barrel" rifle. Picture flash makes it look much lighter than it actually is. (It is a Blued carbon steel barrel w/sporter contour).
