The Smith & Wesson Response is a 9mm pistol caliber carbine built for easy transition from familiar AR-style controls. Using the FLEXMAG interchangeable magazine well system, it accepts compatible double-stack 9mm pistol magazines via adapter kits, including Glock-pattern options. With a 16.5-inch threaded barrel, adjustable stock, and a picatinny-style top rail for optics, it’s designed for configurable range and training use.

My purchase of the S&W Response was a great one in my opinion. Not only was it on sale, but a rebate accompanied the buy as well. This put the value over the top for me. Just like my other S&W products… it's a quality build. I've yet to fire it, but I'm sure it will perform great like the other S&W firearms I've in the past; both my own and those at the range. Perfect that what i would call this carbine easy to handle easy to maintain cleaning this weapon isn't hard just 1 flaw design in this is you have to change out mad wells to shoot different mags anything thang else isn't hard great little weapon for the budget you can add some many different types of accessories for this set up great to shoot easy on the wallet to have fun with this is a perfect step up gun from a ar22 to a ar9 just the right weapons for the beginning shooter to graduate to a ar15 9 out.of 10 magazine well is the only down fall to this weapon everything else is a sold easy to move with with the right ammo this might be a good entry gun if you need to practice

Virginia Law states as banned:Plastic firearms: any firearm, including machine guns and short-barrel shotguns as defined in this chapter, containing less than 3.7 ounces of electromagnetically-detectable metal in the barrel, slide, cylinder, frame or receiver of which, when subjected to inspection by X-ray machines commonly used at airports, does not generate an image that accurately depicts its shape. Is this carbine legal in Virginia?

(2) ANSWERS
A: § 18.2-308.5 is targeting 3D printed-type guns or other "ghost guns" made almost exclusively of plastic and is not relevant here as this carbine contains much more than 3.7oz of steel and aluminum in various parts, namely the barrel and bolt. It is not much different than S&W, Glock, or any other common manufacturers' pistols made with a polymer frame but metal slide and barrel.
