Questions & Answers
Q: Will it shoot 38 special as well as 357 mag?

A: Joshua, yes Sir it will. No issues with 38 Special loads.

A: yes but some of them will not feed the 38 special wad cutter ammo

A: Josh … the .38 and .357 are very close to the same in most all measurements. The .357 was originally made by stretching the length of the .38 case to hold more powder. They can be found with same bullets weights. Most all .357 guns will fire the .38 but NOT the other way around. You never try to shoot .357 ammo in a gun marked .38 special. … probably wouldn't fir anyway … too long. The Winchester should run .38s but as others have said the flat nose "wadcutters" might tend to hang up in the action. Stick to a round nose full metal jacket or jacketed hollow point and it should be fine. Cheaper too, with less noise and recoil. But I would check with a Winchester site to see if they say there are any issues with running .38s. Guns are funny machines and can be ammo sensitive.

A: Josh - One can not simply say "will work with no issues". Every type ammo is different, and every firearm is different, and each has its own characteristics. You could contact Winchester, and do your 'due diligence' online, and see what experiences others have had using 38 special in this rifle. In theory, it should work, but reality is sometimes different than theory.
