I have had my ACE-R...
I have had my ACE-R for a couple weeks and it has been on one hunt and lots of patterning. So far I have had zero issues with cycling shells of a variety of sizes. My first shells out of the box were 2 3/4 of a borderline FPS/DRAM and it chewed through them. I love the feel of it. The grips are narrow-ish, like a SBE. I have torn it down all the way once now and, once you get used to it, it is very simple and quick. I did have to change the drop shim one setting, as I felt I had to smash my face on the cheek pad to see down the barrel naturally. One shim change and all is well. The stock extended 'Improved Mod' choke does a pretty good job with steel. I had to laugh though, the full choke says "STEEL SHOOT NO". Some Turkish grammar apparently. My ONLY nit-pick so far is the paint/coating. I got the Max-7 and it really does not look like the pictures would lead you to believe. The transitions and colors between composite and metal are just not high-end looking. I have two chips already off of the magazine end cap and I have no clue how it happened, because it didn't get dropped or mis-handled. I have a feeling it's going to end up not being a very pretty gun after some use. I can deal with that on a utilitarian duck gun, but not everyone may feel the same way. I feel like the ACE is a couple manufacturing tweaks away from being a five star choice for waterfowlers.
