Overall, a nicely made...
Overall, a nicely made budget shotgun. Works well enough and the finish is serviceable although certainly not up to the Weatherby family standards of high quality which is reflected in the low price. The only real knock I have against the gun is the awful extended chokes. They ruin the look of the classic English style side-by-side while offering no utility for a field piece. Worse is that Weatherby offers no accessory flush mounted chokes for their product, and aftermarket alternatives are elusive at best. Sadly, contacting Weatherby for assistance about this proved less than successful with the representative being quite rude. Unfortunately, this detail is an important one to me and thus the shotgun sits in the box unused until a solution presents itself. I am an unabashed fan of the Weatherby company and most of the products they produce, and hope at some point they will introduce an upgraded shotgun line at the level of the Mark V Deluxe and Euromark rifles.
