Built for fast handling in the field, the Winchester Super X3 Field 20 Gauge combines a slim, machined-rib barrel with the Super X3 Active Valve gas system to reduce recoil. A gunmetal grey Perma-Cote UT (Ultra Tough) surface finish provides durable corrosion resistance, while an electroless nickel-plated bolt adds extra protection. Designed for consistent patterning, the 3in chamber Super X3 Field features Back-Bored technology and an Invector-Plus choke tube system, using the included choke tubes for versatility on a variety of game.

This is my second SX3....
This is my second SX3. I also have a 12 gauge. Overall this is the sweetest shooting 20 ga. auto I have ever shot. It is very light. My friends Rem. 1187 weighs more and kicks harder. The Browning design (this Winchester is the same as a Browning silver)is just superior to any auto I have seen. They swing to target great , their light and they kick so so soft. I shot 100 rounds through it today and averaged 9 out of 10 on sporting clays. It functioned perfectly. The 12 ga. SX3 has a few touches (like the bolt release button) that are a little nicer than the 20 ga.. The 20 is put together a little different than the 12 ga.. I order this on Monday and picked it up at my FFLs on Wednesday evening. Thanks Buds for a good price on a great gun and for the excellent shipping time.

Super quick shipping...
Super quick shipping from Bud's, as usual. As for the shotgun, all I can say is...WOW...Before first firing, I read through the manual and disassembled everything for a thorough cleaning and light oiling. This is recommended in order to remove the packing grease that Winchester ships to protect the shotgun. Cleaning was a breeze and much easier than the Beretta autoloaders. At reassembly I installed a Briley extended skeet choke and headed to the range. In about an hour I ran through 6 boxes of AA #9 shot on the skeet range. I have never shot a softer shooting more pleasant shotgun. The shotgun has a quick chambering feature in that when the bolt is open and you insert the first round, the bolt automatically closes and readies the shotgun. This makes for super fast reloads which is great for the range. The gun ran flawlessly and made quick work on the targets at hand. Fit and finish is superb and the trigger pull nice and crisp. Overall I am very happy with this 20 gauge platform, and would consider it an exceptional buy given the FN heritage and competition from other high-cost autoloaders (plus Winchester threw in a $150 soft shell SX3 jacket with the purchase).
