Henry has done an outstanding job here. I have a wife and daughter who are smaller statured. The shorter length of pull gives them the perfect cheek weld. This 20 gauge uses rem chokes. Awesome. Cheap and easy to find. Everything from deer to turkey will be hunted with this thing. The wood we got on ours was beautiful, lots of character, very dark tones. Fit of the wood to the frame was very good, especially for this price point. The checkering is cut not pressed in. It feels great in the hand. Balances well and swings easy. Opening the breech is easy with the ambidextrous lever. The ejector kicks out with authority! Lock up is positive and tight. Has a 3 inch chamber for the magnum loads. Hammer spring is stiff for their hands. It should lighten up with break in. But it is a 'youth' shotgun, should be a little lighter in my opinion. The barrel bluing is beautiful and consistent. Gold lettering on the barrel is easy to read. Quite a showpiece! I have Henry lever actions, and also the single shot 357. All have been wonderful. This youth shotgun is wonderful build quality. I don't doubt our daughter will pass this down as a prized possession one day. You won't be disappointed with this if you want a well made shotgun for your son or daughter who are getting into hunting, shooting or prefer a shorter length of pull.
