Caps are a full 3/8"...
Caps are a full 3/8" shorter than an actual .357 magnum round. Good news is that you can also use these in .38 special. Bad news, not great for speed loading practice, even for 38 special. Otherwise, work as advertised for dry fire. 3 stars.
