I purchased this Colt....
I purchased this Colt. To be honest, I'm suprised that the quality is lacking this much on a $1200 pistol. I own a TRP, 2 DW'S, and a range master. The $750 SA RM is at least the same quality as this colt. Not Bud's fault, as usual their service was great. This Colt is a $700 pistol, but, with a pony on it is sold for $1200

Q: It came with 2 recoil springs. Do i use both at the same time? They're s nothing in the owners manual on it

(2) ANSWERS
A: Comes with two recoil springs, one for heavier loads and one for lighter loads (like "wimpy" practice reloads used for practice). One will probably be green - this is for the lighter loads. One switches them out depending on ammo. Only use one at a time.

A: Ah yes, indeed, I overlooked the fact this was a 9mm ... yes, they 'nest' inside each other on the recoil rod. Should be an illustration in the manual. Sorry for my confusion.

A: This is Colt's Advanced Dual Spring Recoil System they developed recently for all their 1911's. You need to order both springs when you replace them. Brownells's has them in stock.
